The Next Verse

Today was my last day working in mainstream medicine.

I am being let go for refusing to take or give a harmful drug. The money the company owner gets for flu shots is more important to her than the health of patients or keeping a nurse on staff who genuinely wants to see people heal and not just generate revenue.

Even “holistic” nursing has been captured by pharma and collaboration in mass murder is lucrative. The slaughter will not end until all doctors and nurses stand up and go back to putting patients over profits.

There is a quote by Captain Malcolm Reynolds in Firefly that says, “May have been on the losing side, still not convinced it was the wrong one”.

The series got some criticism at the time because some moonbeams thought Joss Whedon was implying the wrong people won the American Civil War. Obviously, the detractors never watched more than an episode or two if that is all they came away with.

Firefly had a lot to say about world orders and alliances and who did or didn't get to travel freely about the Verse based on what was loaded into his or her ident card. The follow up movie, Serenity, also had some interesting subject matter about medical experimentation, mind control, and a drug called "Pax".

Over the last five years, whoever is really running our world (sex perverts, I suspect) has managed to get millions of people to put themselves in prisons of their own making and line up for death by shot.

Some of the people who went along with it still think they are the good guys for ratting out their neighbors for having Thanksgiving Dinner with more than six people and shaming others into taking medication they didn't need or want.

Some of them are still lining up themselves, often wearing a mask, for more.

It's as if they had some weird mind control stuff done to them.

When I see a mask on someone (especially young and well appearing and not a person who looks as if he or she has cancer or AIDS), I have the same visceral reaction I would have if I saw a triangle or star or swastika on someone’s coat.

The mask shouts to me, “I am a brainwashed person and will do whatever the government tells me to do to save my own skin, the rest of humanity be damned.”

Do they wear it because they are afraid and think they have to or because they are signaling that they are the Good Citizens who will clean out the undesirable vermin with the wrong sorts of beliefs?

Moonbeams.

Meanwhile, we are being robbed blind by the sex perverts while we are fighting over toilets and pronouns and whether or not Heels Up Harris would have been less of a tyrant than Trump the Chump,

I am tired of it. I often wish I had a Firefly Class ship to get off this planet.

However, I am a stubborn person who refuses to go quietly into the night and, even though I have lost yet another battle, I am not convinced we are going to lose the war.

Our land and sea (and careers) may be burned and boiled, but those of us who still have functioning immune systems and consciences will not be on the losing side forever.

We may actually win in the next Verse.
