I reluctantly went to my 35th high school reunion this year because I wanted to honor my mother who was also an alumna (my 30th was cancelled because of lockdown).

My mother loved the school run by the Ursulines and gave generously over the years to help keep the place afloat (I am not as much of fan, but still give from time to time).

She was too sick to go to her 60th because she was coerced by others (doctors, her sisters, The Pope) to take the clot shot in 2021. She suffered terribly for over three years and finally died last December.

I wanted the school to know.

Only four of us showed up from my year, but there was robust turnout from the Classes of 1965 and 1975. A lot of them didn’t look so hot and I wondered which booster they were on?

I don’t know how much longer an independent girls’ academy can survive when the most generous donors are dying off.

If you go by the annual report, even the affluent girls in my class don’t bother to give much, never mind later graduates.

The Boomers seem to have the most largesse which should be expected, I suppose. They were already well established and owned their homes outright before the housing crash and the subsequent Obama/Biden Depression and they got a chance to retire before the Scamdemic response firebombed the economy again in 2020.

I know plenty of Gen X and Y had their careers destroyed by lockdowns and mandates and Gen Z was told their educations and prospects didn’t matter because their teachers and employers were afraid of catching the flu.

I am sure plenty of my sister alumnae are now in ill health because they complied and are not in a position to contribute to the annual fund or travel to a reunion.

It will be interesting to see how many of us are still alive and well in 2030.

Not anticipating much of a reunion, I’m afraid.
