Someone explain to me why so many members of the leisure classes want to upload themselves to the Borg?

Is it laziness? Let AI and The Collective do all my thinking for me?

Boredom? Have they had all the time and money to do everything they ever wanted in life and nothing in the real world interests them anymore?

As a grunt who has yet to see as much of the planet as I would like, I look forward to the day when I will be able to live without internet.

I will enjoy reading all my books, listening to the radio, and talking with the interesting people I meet walking along the beach.

My children may visit whenever they please. Better yet, I will park my Subaru in their yards and use their plumbing whenever they are looking for company or a house/dog/cat/horse sitter.

I have zero interest in being a part of the hive mind and I had my fill of online socialization in 2020 when everyone else was being paid to screw off at home.

I do not consent to virtual travel or digital currency or whatever social credit system the ruling laptop class will use to deny me access to human interaction on this earth.

I will not assimilate.
